- All-new battery EV to go on sale in Canada in November
- Eclipse Sportback to offer 454km of range on a single charge
- First all-new vehicle to debut under Momentum 2030 business plan
- Mitsubishi Motors 2027 lineup includes ICE, mild-hybrid, plug-in hybrid and battery electric vehicles
MISSISSAUGA, ON, October 6, 2026 – Mitsubishi Motors Sales of Canada (MMSCAN) today announced pricing for the 2027 Mitsubishi Eclipse Sportback, an all-new electric vehicle (EV) that will launch in Canada in November. The vehicle will start at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $48,9981 qualifying it for the Federal Government’s $5,000 Electric Vehicle Affordability Program (EVAP) rebate. The Eclipse Sportback will also be available with a Technology Package at $54,098.
Offering up to 454 kilometres of range on a single charge from its 75 kilowatt-hour (kWh) lithium-ion battery, Eclipse Sportback is a key proof-point of the company’s North American business plan, Mitsubishi Momentum 2030. All Eclipse Sportback trims offer both Level 1 and 2 charging with the SAE J1772 format, and Level 3 with Tesla’s NACS format, making charging easy at home and on the road.
No newcomer to the EV space, Mitsubishi Motors’ journey with EVs began in 1966, and continues to this day through both its award-winning plug-in hybrid technology and pure battery-electric vehicles.
The company’s Momentum 2030 plan is defined by four key points:
- A path to electrification
- A path to a renewed and expanded product line-up that will strengthen Mitsubishi Motors in North America
- A path to a modernized retail sales model
- A path to network expansion and sales growth
Through this plan, the company has committed that at least one new or completely refreshed vehicle will debut each year between fiscal 2026 and fiscal 2030, and that new vehicles will be introduced across more segments. Following the launch of Eclipse Sportback, early 2027 will see the debut of an all-new rugged, off-road derivative of the Outlander SUV, and in the future, other new models are planned. Central to the North American strategy is an expanded focus on adventure-oriented and off-road-capable vehicles, addressing a customer shift toward more rugged and versatile vehicles.
Additionally, Mitsubishi Motors also intends to re-enter the pickup truck segment in North America through its collaboration with Nissan, further expanding the brand’s reach and relevance in Canada.
Positioning the company for the future, Mitsubishi Motors offers a full range of powertrain technologies: gasoline-fueled internal combustion engines, mild-hybrid systems that introduce electrification to increase driving efficiency, plug-in hybrid systems that offer the best of both electric and gasoline power sources, and pure battery-electric-powered EVs.
Customer choice is the reason behind this, as the company knows no two customers are the same, nor are the reasons for the decisions they make when purchasing a new vehicle.
Additionally, Eclipse Sportback sets itself apart from the competition as it joins the rest of the Mitsubishi Motors lineup in offering the brand’s legendary warranty package2 including a 10-year/160,000-km powertrain and lithium-ion battery limited warranty, five-year/100,000-km new vehicle limited warranty, and five-year/unlimited-kilometre roadside assistance.
