Outlander PHEV leads Mitsubishi Motor Sales
World’s best-selling plug-in hybrid SUV breaks Canadian record
Mississauga, Ontario – May 1, 2018 – Outlander PHEV, the world’s best-selling plug-in hybrid SUV has notched more vehicle sales in a given month in April than any other plug-in hybrid in Canada ever*. Last month, Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada (MMSCAN) delivered 589 Outlander PHEVs to customers helping the vehicle reach a cumulative total of 1,344 sold in 2018.
“The Outlander PHEV offers an affordable solution to busy Canadian families and businesses who are increasingly turning to hybrid and environmentally friendlier vehicles but are not yet ready to give up their SUVs,” said Kathryn Soubliere, senior manager, Sales Operations. “For the Outlander PHEV there are no compromises in capability from cargo space to towing, fast-charging, and all-wheel drive in 100 per cent EV mode and this becomes very attractive to the customer especially as gas prices soar.”
Recent award winner of the prestigious Good Design™ Award, the all-new 2018 Eclipse Cross reached 412 sales last month. Rounding out sport utility sales for the company were RVR and Outlander, 579 and 492 vehicles were sold respectively.
The Lancer family of compact sedans had 286 deliveries last month while the subcompact Mirage hatchback and G4 sedan combined for 207 sales in April helping the company to achieve 2,567 total sales for the month.
MMSCAN sales for 2018 are up 16.9 per cent led by a solid performance of its SUV line-up.
