Record December powers Mitsubishi to best year ever
Mississauga, ON – January 4, 2012. December rang out 2011 in style setting a new record for December monthly sales with 2,074 vehicles sold up 18.6% over the same month in 2010.
That accomplishment pushed the yearly total for Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada Inc. (MMSCAN) to 20,511units, breaking the 20,000 mark and achieving record annual sales.
Beyond record total numbers, the end of the year was outstanding for Mitsubishi’s popular Outlander and Lancer models. December was the best month in 2011 for Outlander sales with 641 units and the best month in 2011 for Lancer sales with 788 Lancers + Lancer EVO/Ralliart units sold.
While at the end of November 2011, Mitsubishi was 3.8% ahead of 2010’s YTD total, the very strong December accelerated the growing spurt. In the end, Yearly Total Sales for calendar 2011 was up 5.2% demonstrating the enthusiasm Canadians are showing for Mitsubishi’s car and crossover models as well as the increasing strength of the company’s dealer network.
